Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, Jodi has travelled the country wherever his talent has ventured. He has done everything from television, theatre to radio and eventually company owner, founding his own brand. As an avid entrepreneur, Jodi’s career has taken flight in a new direction, with his company, The Jodi Deerling Brand (Pty) Ltd. The Jodi Deerling Brand has launched its very own South African Clothing Brand called the JD Collection and an online show called, THE JODI DEERLING SHOW, interviewing various celebrities and business people. What the show hopes to achieve, is to motivate viewers in becoming successful as well as providing them with the necessary information in order to self-realize their goals.
Jodi Deerling is currently the MC for the Ariel Game Show, a show based on Proctor and Gamble’s newly launched Ariel Washing Powder. His previous work includes: presenter for General Motors corporate Video, MC for the Riverstone Health and Beauty Spa, presenter for the Somerset Mall Spin and Win Game Show, Choreographer for the National Uniliever Wellness Day, performer in the National ABSA Internal Choir Competition, performer and dancer for the Shoprite Top Star, MC/Choreographer Volkswagen SA, dancer for Coca Cola at the FIFA WORLD CUP and radio representative for Algoa FM’s Hit Squad. These are but a few of the most recent corporate events.
Jodi’s zest for life and gripping personality is what the world fell in love with, when he appeared on ‘Come dine with me South Africa, Season 2 Episode 5”. Jodi is well known in South Africa for his stint on ISIDINGO, The Need, in which he played the lead gang member who raped the character played by South African award winning actress, Kim Engelbrecht (Lolly De Klerk). Jodi’s character was called Fish. Jodi then went on to become one of South Africa’s Youth Television (YO.TV) presenters and rapidly attained popularity amongst the youth. YO.TV is aired daily on SABC 1 and Jodi found himself hosting his own segMent, called Blue Couch which afforded him the amazing opportunity to interview many local sport personalities. This was where it all started for Jodi and his presenting career sky-rocketed as he went to host many other local shows.
